Synopsis: Ιn a seemingly idyllic Cypriot village, the life of two  twelve-year-old boys, Socrates and Marcos is careless and happy.
Socrate’s carefree life comes to an abrupt end when he finds out that the family of his cousin and best friend, Marcos, are being abused by their violent father Hambo.
Infuriated by this discovery, Socrates decides to put his firecracker-making skills to use. What starts as a naive attempt to teach Hambo a lesson leads Socrates to the heart of a murder investigation and the exposure of a family secret.
Confronted with a dilemma that will change his life forever, Socrates discovers the meaning of love, family loyalty and courage.

Curriculum: Petros Charalambous was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1976. His early exposure to photography, theater and art, as well as his need for emotional and visual expression led him to Hollywood where he studied film and television directing at the California State University, Northridge. His work experience in USA includes one year at CNN/DNEW in Los Angeles. In 2000, he returned to Cyprus, where he taught television production at the Frederick University. At the same time, he was working for Lumiere Services as a film director, until 2008. Since then, he has been working as a freelancer film director shooting commercials, corporate videos, music videos, narratives and documentaries. Several of his commercials were shortlisted advertising competitions.

His short film “The Escape of the Queen” attended various film festivals worldwide, winning awards and distinctions.|In 2008, he directed the opera “Epitafios”, the short film “Voices” and the feature documentary “The Fire Within”, amongst others, as well as several TV shows and live performances. His feature documentary “From Here to Everest”, is currently in post-production.
His first feature film “Boy on the Bridge” is currently making a successful festival journey. The film had its Cyprus premiere at the Cyprus Film Days Film Festival and then was released in cinemas island-wide.

The Joy and Sorrow of the Body (149’, 2013)

Synopsis: Evagoras was sentenced to five years in prison because he was forfeiting Euro banknotes in collaboration with his Bulgarian friend Milen. He gets out of prison and travels to Varna, Bulgaria, to meet Milen. Evagoras falls in love with Dita, but he never touches her. In the meantime John, an INTERPOL officer, from Cyprus, in charge of “the Evagoras-Milen case”, arrives in Varna. He is following Evagoras, and tries to get in touch with Milen and arrest him. John meets Dita and sleeps with her. At last Milen appears and gives Evagoras a suitcase filled with dollars: it is his reward for his silence during his stay in prison. Milen informs Evagoras that Dita is a hooker. Evagoras falls in deep depression… Dita refuses to meet John again. She is in love with Evagoras. Dita goes to meet Evagoras, who has disappeared after his meeting with Milen. Dita arrives at a friend’s apartment, but the man who waits for her is not Evagoras but John, who tries to rape her. She resists and fights him off and during the fight she reaches John’s gun and kills him. Evagoras enters violently in the apartment but not knowing that John is already dead, shoots to kill him and wounds Dita. Evagoras runs away from the apartment, meets his friend Milen and kills him.

Film Studies in VGIK, (State Institute of Cinematography). Moscow. Studies in Theatre and Opera Directing, in Moscow Theatres. His 4 feature films were awarded 23 prizes in different film festivals, all over the world. His feature film Slaughter of the Cock was declared the Best European Feature Film of the year, at the Barcelona Film Festival and Market (1997).
Andreas Pantzis is the only Cypriot Director who’s film Slaughter of the Cock was submitted to the OSCAR Academy Award Competition.
The film was Greece Nomination for the OSCAR for the Best Foreign film, in 1997 Academy Award Competition. He has directed for the theatre Sophocles, Aeschylus, Shakespeare, Marlowe, Beckett, Strindberg, Miller, Chekhov, Alexander Galin, etc., and for the opera Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”.
His filmography consists of 15 films, shorts, documentaries and features.
Work in progress: Mozart’s opera “ Apollon and Hyacintus ” for the Sofia State opera Bulgaria. Premiere: June 2018.

Synopsis: Υiorgos and Sophia are trying hard to cope with their financial problems and the needs of their two children. The grandfather helps them out with his pension since the family business, a small grocery store, does not provide them with enough income. When suddenly the grandfather dies in his sleep, they decide to keep it a secret for as long as they can so as to continue collecting the money from his pension. But things become more complicated when officers from the social security department start looking for grandfather.

Born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1963. He studied Fine Arts at UCLA (Bachelor of Arts, Honors) and at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid (scholarship by the Spanish government) and Filmmaking at the London International Film School. His credits include: TV productions, commercials, twelve solo painting exhibitions, three short films and three feature films. His first feature film HONEY AND WINE (2006) won the best feature film award at the Thessaloniki 9th panorama of independent cinema and also represented Cyprus in many festivals of European Cinema around the world. His second feature BY MIRACLE (2010) was also screened in a number of international festivals.
FAMILY MEMBER (2015), his third feature film, is still showing in festivals around the world with great success (Best Cinematography at the London Greek Film Festival). He taught art in secondary education while continuing with painting and filmmaking.

The Story of the Green Line (115’, 2017)

Synopsis: A story in the “Green Line” of Nicosia, where a wall made-up of barrels and barbed wire divides a town and a country. Kypros, a Greek-Cypriot soldier discovers that Murat, a soldier from the opposing side, is actually living in his own family home. Just like Kypros, he too is a refugee. War has forced both of them to dislocate; Kypros from the north to the south and Murat from the south to the north. When Murat goes back to his village on leave, he returns bringing him a present from his home, a family photograph, and he proposes that the two lads take a secret trip, each on the “other side”. Kypros, who wants to see his sweetheart, a Turkish-Cypriot girl he left behind, accepts without considering the consequences.

Curriculum: Kyros Papavassiliou was born in Cyprus in 1972. He has written and directed one feature and seven short films. His feature “Impressions of a drowned man” had its world premiere at Tiger Awards Competition of International Film Festival Rotterdam 2015. The film then travelled to many festivals around the world (Karlovy Vary, American Film Institute, Durban, Kiev, Mumbai, etc.) and received various awards. His short film “In the name of the sparrow” was selected at the Official Selection of Cannes Film Festival 2007. He is currently in pre-production for the feature length film “The sock” and in development for the feature length scripts “Embryo Larva Pupa Imago” and “Yannis.” He has directed two devised theatre performances: “Misunderstanding of a sweet land called Cyprus” (2013) and “The Gaze” (2015.)He has published a collection of poems by the title “Poneman.”He initially studied Music and Philosophy in the United States.

Synopsis: Costas, an uninspired soap opera writer struggling with writer’s block, is under pressure by his producer to deliver new episodes. Having just moved to a flat in an old apartment building, his attention is caught by his mysterious neigbours. Soon enough he finds himself spying on them, transforming their everyday tragic encounters into a light hearted soap opera, romanticising what he witnesses for the consumption of a mass audience. As the success of the soap opera grows, so does Costas’ obsession with the family, particularly with Chryso, a young woman who frequently runs away from the family home. Slowly putting the different pieces together, her tragic life story starts to unravel in front of his eyes, an experience that forces Costas to deal with his own long-suppressed demons.
