Spatial Counterpoint


In the spirit of the Open Air Factory, three contemporary dance performances will be held in outdoor, unusual and non-theatre spaces with internationally acclaimed choreographers and dancers from Cyprus joining forces in a creative collaboration. The Red Hour

This common project between Pafos and Aarhus draws inspiration from the past of the two cities and their many stories which are presented through dance. The work will be shown in both cities and performed by the dance group Black Box from Holstebro (Denmark), in collaboration with choreographers and dancers from Cyprus. The Terpsichore programme of the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture supports the creation and production of choreographies in Cyprus. On the occasion of the European Capital of Culture the Terpsichore programme will be part of Pafos2017. Drawing inspiration from the Open Air Factory, artists are called to create contemporary dance performances in the urban landscape of Pafos, transforming places associated with abandonment and loss, historical as well as modern locations, into the stage for their dance shows.
