The Travelling Stage of the European Capital of Culture Pafos 2017, powered by Cytamobile Vodafone, made its first stop for 2017, on Wednesday 8th February 2017, with a music project by pianists Ricardo Vieira from Portugal and Tomohiro Hatta from Japan. With the support and collaboration of the EU Japan Fest Japan Committee, the artists, presented works for four hands ranging from classic to modern music tradition, as well as works from their own countries, in essence “Linking Continents – Bridging Cultures”.
The Travelling Stage since its beginning in 2014 has been a culture exchange platform, a venue for dialogue and entertainment, creating bridges, relations and networks through partnerships and synergies, inviting the public to engage in the cultural events of the Open Air Factory.
Concerts and music performances from around the world will travel in 2017 to open spaces all over Pafos, in communities but also unexpected places, setting up stages at historical and unique places as well as an audience for great music shows.
All participating artists and groups are characterized by the development of such music traditions through influences and unions with modern elements of other countries and cultures, making them able to overcome the geographical boundaries and build bridges between countries and cultures from Cyprus, the Middle East and Europe.
